25+ Years Experience

I'm Stephen — Former Local Authority Cleaning Inspector

Before starting Stardust Cleaning in 2000, I spent years inspecting cleaning contracts for local councils. I know exactly what "properly clean" looks like — because I used to fail contractors who didn't meet the standard.

That background means I hold every driveway clean to professional inspection standards. If it wouldn't pass my old checklist, we're not done.

I personally quote every Ruddington job and oversee quality. When you call, you speak to me — not a call centre.

Why Ruddington Driveways Get So Dirty

Ruddington's mature tree cover — particularly around the conservation area near Church Street, the heritage core, and Rushcliffe Country Park to the south — drops organic debris that retains moisture year-round. Perfect conditions for moss, algae and lichen to take hold.

Many Wheatley Fields and Manor Park driveways are now 20-30 years old. Block paving from that era typically shows significant sand loss in the joints, opening gaps where weeds and moss establish themselves.

Period properties around Easthorpe Street and the conservation area often retain original flagstones or early block paving with soft mortar — these need a careful, lower-pressure approach to avoid damage.

From New Basford we head south through the city, over Trent Bridge, and down the A60 Loughborough Road through West Bridgford. Whether you're on Church Street, Easthorpe Street, near The Green, or in newer estates like Wheatley Fields — we know the village well.

Not necessarily. As long as we have access to your driveway and an outside tap, you don't need to be present. We'll send before and after photos so you can see the transformation.

A typical Ruddington driveway (30-50m²) takes 2-4 hours depending on the level of soiling and surface type. Block paving with heavy moss growth takes longer than a lightly soiled concrete drive.

About Ruddington

Ruddington is a large village located 5 miles south of Nottingham city centre in the Borough of Rushcliffe. With a population of 7,674 at the 2021 census (up from 7,216 in 2011), it has fiercely retained its village identity despite proximity to Clifton, West Bridgford and the wider Nottingham conurbation. Recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 with around 250 inhabitants, the village name derives from Old English meaning "Rudda's people's estate". By the 19th century Ruddington had become a major centre of the framework knitting industry — half of household heads in the 1851 census were involved in the trade.

St Peter's Church

Grade II listed parish church on Church Street. Originally established as the chapel of St Mary in around 1292-94, renamed St Peter's in 1773-79 after the Flawford church was demolished. Rebuilt in 1824.
