I'm Stephen — Former Local Authority Cleaning Inspector

Before starting Stardust Cleaning in 2000, I spent years inspecting cleaning contracts for local councils. I know exactly what "properly clean" looks like — because I used to fail contractors who didn't meet the standard.

That background means I hold every job to professional inspection standards. If it wouldn't pass my old checklist, we're not done.

I personally quote every Woodborough job and oversee quality. When you call, you speak to me — not a call centre.

We Know Woodborough — and Why Driveways Here Go Green

Woodborough sits in a sheltered valley near the Dover Beck, where the combination of the watercourse, shade from mature trees and gardens, and the village's north-facing slopes creates ideal conditions for moss and algae. Properties near the beck or in shadier spots tend to turn green faster than those on higher ground.

We've been cleaning properties across Gedling Borough since 2000 — from historic stockingers' cottages on Main Street to the larger homes on Bank Hill and Dover Beck Drive.

Whether you're near St Swithun's Church, along Lingwood Lane, or in the newer developments off Shelt Hill, we're around 20-25 minutes away via Arnold and Mapperley Plains.

We head north through Sherwood and Arnold, then across Mapperley Plains towards Calverton before dropping into Woodborough's valley. Whether you're near the village centre, up on Bank Hill, or out towards Epperstone, we know the area well.

"Wow what a difference..... Steve did a fantastic job cleaning and re-sanding our block paving drive and patio. And giving us advice on what to use to control the weeds. My next door neighbours were so impressed they asked him to clean theirs too. I really couldn't be happier with the results. The pictures speak for themselves."

Driveway cleaning starts from £4 per square metre. A typical 40m² block paving driveway costs £160-£200, including kiln-dried sand re-application. We provide free, fixed-price quotes — no hidden fees.

Light rain doesn't affect pressure washing — we're using water anyway! For heavy rain, we'll contact you to reschedule at no charge. We monitor forecasts and communicate proactively.

Not necessarily. As long as we have access to the area and an outside tap, you don't need to be present. We'll send before and after photos so you can see the transformation.

You can walk on it immediately. For block paving that's been re-sanded, we recommend waiting 24 hours before driving on it to let the sand settle into the joints.

Yes. If you're not completely satisfied, we'll return and re-clean at no extra cost. We're also fully insured with £5 million public liability cover for complete peace of mind.

Absolutely. Woodborough has many historic properties including former framework knitters' cottages with their distinctive long windows. We're experienced with older surfaces including flagstones, York stone, and aged brick. We use appropriate pressure settings and take care around historic pointing.

Woodborough sits in a sheltered valley near the Dover Beck, where the watercourse and mature trees create a humid microclimate that's ideal for moss and algae. Properties near the beck or shaded by trees turn green faster than those on higher ground. Regular cleaning every 2-3 years keeps on top of it.

About Woodborough

Woodborough is a picturesque village in the Gedling district, 7 miles north-east of Nottingham, nestled in a sheltered valley near the Dover Beck. Home to approximately 1,909 residents (2021 census), it has roots dating back to the Domesday Book of 1086, when it was known as "Udeburg" or Ude's Fort. The village was historically a framework knitting centre — by 1844 there were still 191 knitting frames here, and many two-storey stockingers' cottages with their distinctive long windows remain at the junction of Main Street and Shelt Hill. There's even a claim that Rev'd William Lee invented the stocking frame here in 1589, rivalling nearby Calverton for that honour.

St Swithun's Church

One of only three Nottinghamshire churches dedicated to St Swithun, with a 13th-century tower and 14th-century chancel built on a Norman site from around 1150. Features a Norman north porch and font, with fragments of ancient armorial glass.
