I'm Stephen — Former Local Authority Cleaning Inspector

Before starting Stardust Cleaning in 2000, I spent years inspecting cleaning contracts for local councils. I know exactly what "properly clean" looks like — because I used to fail contractors who didn't meet the standard.

That background means I hold every job to professional inspection standards. Mapperley Park's period properties deserve extra care, and I personally quote every job to ensure we use the right approach for your specific surfaces.

When you call, you speak to me — not a call centre. I'm based just 10 minutes away in New Basford.

We Know Mapperley Park — and Why Surfaces Here Need Special Care

Mapperley Park's mature tree canopy is one of the area's greatest assets — protected under Tree Preservation Orders since the Conservation Area was designated in 1976. But those beautiful trees create shaded, damp conditions where moss and algae thrive.

We've been cleaning period properties across Nottingham since 2000 — from grand Edwardian villas on Lucknow Drive to converted apartments on Mapperley Hall Drive.

The area's Victorian and Edwardian surfaces — York stone, aged brick, original flagstones — need appropriate pressure settings and careful technique. We've cleaned hundreds of properties here and understand what each surface type requires.

"Wow what a difference..... Steve did a fantastic job cleaning and re-sanding our block paving drive and patio. And giving us advice on what to use to control the weeds. My next door neighbours were so impressed they asked him to clean theirs too. I really couldn't be happier with the results. The pictures speak for themselves."

Mapperley Park Pressure Washing Questions

Got questions? Here are the things customers ask most often.

Can't find your answer?

Call or message us — we respond within 2 hours.

Driveway cleaning starts from £4 per square metre. Mapperley Park properties often have larger driveways (50-100m²), so typical costs range from £200-£400. This includes kiln-dried sand re-application for block paving. We provide free, fixed-price quotes — no hidden fees.

Absolutely. Mapperley Park has been a Conservation Area since 1976. We're experienced with its Victorian and Edwardian properties — York stone, aged brick, original flagstones — using appropriate pressure settings and careful technique for each surface type.

Not necessarily. As long as we have access to the area and an outside tap, you don't need to be present. Particularly useful for busy professionals — many of our Mapperley Park customers work at the nearby hospitals. We'll send before and after photos.

Yes. Many Mapperley Park properties have substantial driveways, sometimes 80-150m² or more. We have commercial-grade equipment designed for larger areas and can complete most jobs in a single visit. We'll give you an accurate quote based on the actual size.

Yes — Lucknow Drive, Magdala Road, Malvern Road, Mapperley Hall Drive, Private Road, and the Alexandra Park area. We're based in New Basford, just 10-15 minutes away via Mansfield Road.

Yes. If you're not completely satisfied, we'll return and re-clean at no extra cost. We're also fully insured with £5 million public liability cover for complete peace of mind.

Mapperley Park's mature tree canopy — protected under Tree Preservation Orders — creates shaded, damp conditions ideal for moss and algae. The established gardens and dense foliage mean surfaces here turn green faster than in more open areas. Regular cleaning every 2-3 years keeps on top of it.

Light rain doesn't affect pressure washing — we're using water anyway! For heavy rain, we'll contact you to reschedule at no charge. We monitor forecasts and communicate proactively.

About Mapperley Park

Mapperley Park is one of Nottingham's most prestigious residential areas, a leafy suburb just one mile north of the city centre. Designated a Conservation Area in 1976, it was developed from the early 20th century on the former estate of Mapperley Hall, originally built in 1792 for the Wright banking family. The area's distinctive tree-lined avenues and Victorian and Edwardian villas were planned by architect William Beedham Starr, who drew up the master plan after the estate was auctioned in 1903 for £74,500. Between 1906 and 1914, around 163 houses received planning consent, creating what the Nottingham Civic Society calls "a veritable treasure house of Edwardian domestic architecture".

Mapperley Hall

Grade II listed building at the heart of the conservation area. Built in 1792 by Ichabod Wright, it later housed University College students (including D.H. Lawrence), served as a WWI hospital, and is now converted to apartments.
