About Wollaton
Wollaton is an affluent suburb 3 miles west of Nottingham city centre, with a population of approximately 24,700 residents across its two wards. The area's history stretches back to the Domesday Book when it was known as 'Olaveston'. The Willoughby family acquired the manor in 1314, and their wealth from extensive coal mining funded the construction of Wollaton Hall between 1580-1588. The village centre around The Square has remained largely unchanged for centuries, featuring 18th century cottages, the Admiral Rodney pub, and St Leonard's Church dating to the 13th century. The parish was absorbed into Nottingham in 1933 after the hall and park were sold to the city council in 1925.

Grade I listed Elizabethan mansion designed by Robert Smythson, now home to Nottingham Natural History Museum. The 500-acre Grade II* listed park features herds of red and fallow deer. Famously used as Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
