25+ Years Experience

I'm Stephen — Former Local Authority Cleaning Inspector

Before starting Stardust Cleaning in 2000, I spent years inspecting cleaning contracts for local councils. I know exactly what "properly clean" looks like — because I used to fail contractors who didn't meet the standard.

That background means I hold every job to professional inspection standards. If it wouldn't pass my old checklist, we're not done.

I personally quote every Gedling job and oversee quality. When you call, you speak to me — not a call centre.

We Know Gedling — and Why Driveways Here Go Green

Gedling sits in a sheltered valley position with significant tree cover from the Country Park and Gedling House Woods nature reserve. This creates a shaded, humid microclimate that's ideal for moss and algae growth — surfaces here green up faster than in more exposed areas.

We've been cleaning properties across Gedling since 2000 — from the older village centre near All Hallows Church to the colliery-era estates and modern developments near the Country Park.

Whether you're on Main Road, near Carlton le Willows Academy, or in the newer developments off Spring Lane, we're just 15 minutes away from our New Basford base.

We head east through Mapperley and down into Gedling village. Being just 4 miles from Nottingham city centre, Gedling is one of our quickest areas to reach — whether you're near the old village, along Arnold Lane, or in the developments near the Country Park.

"Wow what a difference..... Steve did a fantastic job cleaning and re-sanding our block paving drive and patio. And giving us advice on what to use to control the weeds. My next door neighbours were so impressed they asked him to clean theirs too. I really couldn't be happier with the results. The pictures speak for themselves."

Gedling Pressure Washing Questions

Got questions? Here are the things customers ask most often.

Can't find your answer?

Call or message us — we respond within 2 hours.

Driveway cleaning starts from £4 per square metre. A typical 40m² block paving driveway costs £160-£200, including kiln-dried sand re-application. We provide free, fixed-price quotes — no hidden fees.

Light rain doesn't affect pressure washing — we're using water anyway! For heavy rain, we'll contact you to reschedule at no charge. We monitor forecasts and communicate proactively.

Not necessarily. As long as we have access to the area and an outside tap, you don't need to be present. We'll send before and after photos so you can see the transformation.

You can walk on it immediately. For block paving that's been re-sanded, we recommend waiting 24 hours before driving on it to let the sand settle into the joints.

Yes — Main Road, Arnold Lane, Shearing Hill, Wood Lane, Spring Lane, Westdale Lane, and all surrounding areas including Carlton and Netherfield. We're based in New Basford, around 15 minutes away.

Yes. If you're not completely satisfied, we'll return and re-clean at no extra cost. We're also fully insured with £5 million public liability cover for complete peace of mind.

Absolutely. Much of Gedling's housing dates from the colliery years (1899-1991) and we're very familiar with these properties. We understand the typical concrete drives, paths and patios from this era and adjust our approach accordingly.

Gedling sits in a sheltered valley position with significant tree cover from Gedling House Woods and the Country Park. This creates a shaded, humid environment that's ideal for moss and algae. Regular cleaning every 2-3 years keeps on top of it.

About Gedling

Gedling is a historic village 4 miles north-east of Nottingham that gives its name to the wider Borough of Gedling. First recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, the name derives from the Saxon chief Gedl — "Gedl-Ing" meaning "Gedl's People". The village has roots stretching back to Saxon times when Gedl sailed up the River Trent and landed at what is now the site of All Hallows' Church. With a ward population of around 6,817 (2011 census), Gedling transformed during the colliery era (1899-1991) when Gedling Colliery — known as the "Pit of Nations" for its diverse workforce of 30+ nationalities — employed over 2,000 people at its peak and produced over a million tonnes of coal per year.

All Hallows' Church

Grade I listed church with origins in the 11th century. The 14th century tower (90ft) and spire (91ft) form the second highest in Nottinghamshire, noted for its remarkable entasis (curved profile). Churches on this site date back to 678AD.
